At TURN, we believe healing happens in connection, and that is evident in our Fresno RISE program. The recently launched program is a trauma-informed residential treatment program supporting adult men as they transition from incarceration back into the community.
RISE Program Manager Deanna Kivett asked participants to choose one staff member to recognize for their impact. But the men couldn’t choose just one—they chose them all.
Moved by the collective care they’ve received, the participants honored the entire RISE staff, who received “Essential Piece” certificates and heartfelt notes.
One note to Deanna read:
“You are [the] essence and beauty of which this Fresno RISE MCRP [Male Community Reentry Program] was fashioned after. We respect your mind. We love the bright soul that is you. And all you stand for and all that you do for the community. Just saying thank you is not enough!”
These moving words remind us why TURN exists: to encourage and enable people as they reclaim their lives.
